Practice Makes...Better
My name is Rachel, and I'm a workaholic. I take on too much at work. I take on even more outside of it: races, home improvement, community projects, etc. I live in a constant cycle of overwhelm and burnout. I work and work. I get lots done (but not everything I committed to, because I don't set good boundaries). And then I do nothing other than play video games or binge watch bad TV, because I'm paralyzed. And then I get my energy back, and then I do nothing for a weekend. And so on.
In that cycle, I am so consumed with what I have to get done, or so exhausted from going at full tilt without a break, that I lose sight of what matters to me. So I started a little exercise. I ask myself six questions each day for a bit of perspective.
My daily practice: six questions I ask each day.
